Problem
CTEK needed help fleshing out the user experience and interface design of a social networking application for IT leaders. The job to be done was equipping stakeholders to visualize the candidate solution before deciding to give the project the green light or not. I worked with their project representative to scope the effort needed and stay within the bounds created by a tiny budget, non-existent branding, and a week-long turnaround. The client instructed me to use an existing temporary logo that limited the aesthetics of the final designs.

Solution & Results
I designed the screen concepts, interactions, and user flows that became the foundations for an InVision clickable prototype. The stakeholders approved the project based on these pre-visualizations. Future design iterations by developers resulted in the production-ready product deployed in the App store.
Process
Design Principles
With no time to interview users, I relied on the client representative and board chair of the Colorado Technology Association as a proxy for actual users. I identified top essential user stories that could showcase the application's potential:
• Frictionless account creation and onboarding
• Creating meaningful connections between peers
• Visualizing Technology Initiatives
I targeted Apple's iOS platform first while leaving the door open to design an Android version in the future.
User Interface Design
The client provided wireframe sketches depicting various sections within the application. I created an application map from these concepts that allowed the team to visualize screen flows. I created a simple color palette based on non-linear domain research and interviews with the client. I designed the final medium-fidelity interfaces that drove the prototype.
